I’ve always had help from career services at my college, however, now that I’m no longer a student I don’t think I can use that service anymore. I’m looking for a new job and I think there may be something wrong with my resume that is holding me back from standing out among other applicants. My goal with this resume is to get a job in the Environmental field but my true passion is working with animals. I may need to create two resumes to be directed towards each field.

I’m torn in which direction I want to go with my career. Environmental is what my coursework is in and would lead to good paying jobs/benefits and lots of room to move up in the chain but I don’t think I’ll ever be completely happy with this type of work. Working with animals, well, it’s what I love and am good at but has little in the way of going anywhere unless I go back for more school.

Below is my resume. I had it formatted in Word but when I copied it over to the forum it lost its format and I also “x” a few things to protects the names. I would really appreciate it if some of you can take a look and give me suggestions on how to improve it. Thanks so much!

OBJECTIVE: To apply my geologic knowledge and liberal arts assessment skills towards solving scientific problems.
